principle and mantra since I started taking on leadership roles and recruiting \u2013 something I\u2019ve been doing for over 20 years now. \ud83d\ude07 It\u2019s such a powerful statement, and one that\u2019s becoming increasingly important not just here in Switzerland, but also in the broader context of recruiting and the &#8220;War for Talent.&#8221; One of the most critical and extremely challenging tasks for management in today\u2019s candidate-driven market is finding and attracting the right people. \ud83c\udfaf\ud83e\udde9<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>With traditional mindsets and outdated beliefs in recruitment \u2013 where the &#8220;best candidates&#8221; are those with a &#8220;consistent CV,&#8221; no job-hopping, no career detours, and no gaps, who also tick every box in terms of certificates, qualifications, and, of course, relevant industry experience \u2013 many will fail to meet this challenge. \u2b07\ufe0f\ud83d\ude48<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The <strong>&#8220;best&#8221; candidates<\/strong> are those who are the best fit for the company, the team, the culture, and the role. To find them, we need to look closer and get to know the person behind the CV. This also means we need to stop inviting only those candidates who appear to have the &#8220;perfect&#8221; CVs. \ud83d\udd0e<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h3><strong>\ud835\uddea\ud835\uddf5\ud835\ude06?<\/strong><\/h3><p>\ud83d\udce3 Because in an environment that demands constant change and innovation, skills can be learned.<\/p><p>\ud83d\udce3 Because in a fast-changing and increasingly complex working world, employees have the right to evolve and adapt, too.<\/p><p>\ud83d\udce3 Because unconventional career paths can bring valuable experiences and skills.<\/p><p>\ud83d\udce3 Because industry experience is not essential for successful recruiting \u2013 in any field.<\/p><p>\ud83d\udce3 Because job profiles are evolving, and new roles are emerging that require completely different skill sets.<\/p><p>\ud83d\udce3 Because the right mindset, values, and character of a person cannot be seen on paper.<\/p><p>\ud83d\udce3 Because the right mindset \u2013 team spirit, flexibility, agility, openness, curiosity, a proactive attitude, etc. \u2013 is invaluable, cannot be &#8220;taught,&#8221; and certainly cannot be validated with certificates.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>I could go on, but I\u2019m sure you can, too\u2026 I\u2019m curious to hear your thoughts and additions. \ud83d\udcac\ud83d\ude09<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Of course, there are roles where specific qualifications and certifications are a non-negotiable <strong>must<\/strong>. I\u2019m not questioning that at all.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>However, for us, beyond the essential skills and experiences, the <strong>\ud835\uddd6\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf9\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9 \ud835\uddd9\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude01<\/strong>, the mindset, the personality, and the chemistry are the decisive factors. We recruit with <strong>&#8220;\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude00 \ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf1 \ud835\uddef\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude00,&#8221;<\/strong> which isn\u2019t always easy, but it\u2019s incredibly fulfilling and motivating. \ud83d\udc9a\ud83d\ude0a<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hire for attitude.
