Schweiz<\/strong>, I once again had the opportunity to write an article &#8211; this time on one of my <strong>passion topics: Candidate Experience.<\/strong> Or rather, employer attractiveness. To me, these two concepts are inseparably linked.<\/p><p data-start=\"292\" data-end=\"603\"><br \/>And I seriously wonder: Why do companies spend enormous budgets on employer branding campaigns year after year to appear attractive, while simultaneously neglecting their hiring process so severely? After all, the application process is the only opportunity to interact directly with potential employees. Why?<\/p><p data-start=\"605\" data-end=\"800\"><br \/>While elaborate promotional videos, social media campaigns, and flashy employer branding strategies paint a perfect picture, candidates often experience something entirely different in reality:<br \/><br \/><\/p><ul data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"1015\"><li data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"846\">Long waiting times or no response at all<\/li><li data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"901\">Standardized rejections without any personal touch<\/li><li data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"958\">Unstructured interviews with unprepared interviewers<\/li><li data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1015\">Non-transparent processes with unclear communication<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1218\"><br \/>And then companies wonder why talents drop out or leave negative reviews on platforms like Kununu? An employer brand isn&#8217;t defined by glossy brochures\u2014it shows in direct interactions with candidates!<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1220\" data-end=\"1273\"><strong><br \/>Swiss Job Market: The War for Talent Isn\u2019t Over<\/strong><\/h4><p data-start=\"1275\" data-end=\"1511\">Yes, the number of job openings in Switzerland has decreased. But the skills shortage remains. Almost <strong data-start=\"1377\" data-end=\"1397\">50% of employees<\/strong> are open to changing jobs\u2014an enormous opportunity for companies to position themselves as attractive employers.<\/p><p data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1747\"><br \/>But what happens instead? Many companies pour huge amounts of money into employer branding while their recruiting processes remain subpar. A contradiction that irritates me every time\u2014not just me, but many of my HR partners as well.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1749\" data-end=\"1815\"><strong><br \/>Employer Attractiveness Isn\u2019t Defined by a Promotional Video<\/strong><\/h4><p data-start=\"1817\" data-end=\"2010\">Being an attractive employer doesn\u2019t mean having a great career website or a high-end marketing campaign. It means offering candidates a <strong data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"1992\">fair, professional, and respectful<\/strong> hiring process.<\/p><p data-start=\"2012\" data-end=\"2040\"><strong>What makes the difference?<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"2042\" data-end=\"2343\">\u2714 Application processes that are quick and straightforward<br data-start=\"2104\" data-end=\"2107\" \/>\u2714 Transparent, respectful communication\u2014from first contact to offer or rejection<br data-start=\"2187\" data-end=\"2190\" \/>\u2714 Interviews that not only assess candidates but also showcase the company<br data-start=\"2264\" data-end=\"2267\" \/>\u2714 Personal, well-thought-out feedback instead of automated standard emails<\/p><p data-start=\"2345\" data-end=\"2372\">Sounds obvious? It isn\u2019t.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"2374\" data-end=\"2426\"><strong><br \/>Candidate Experience: The Overlooked Potential<\/strong><\/h4><p data-start=\"2428\" data-end=\"2665\">Every company wants to attract top talent\u2014yet many behave in the candidate journey as if applicants were easily replaceable. But the hiring process is the first real touchpoint with the company\u2019s culture.
